Attention for buyers and sellers!

As of now, there will be no more classified advertising on the IOA site. It makes much more sense to buy and sell racing gear on sites like HydroRacer. We appreciate everyone who used this site in the past for classified ads.

Thanks,

Important info about class changes

This year, the APBA has changed the Mod Outboard classes from the standard letter designations to "cc" designations. There is a page on this site that provides a translation from the old classes to the new. I hope this helps!

IOA represented at Purdue race

Team Hillenbrand is sitting on the pole for Saturday’s Purdue Grand Prix Go-Kart Race. Crew Chief Dan Koschka (41-H) and his teammates worked hard getting ready for qualifications, which obviously paid off. Their driver took third place in 2007 and the team feels confident as they look ahead to race day. Purdue Grand Prix web site

Hall of Famer in our midst

USA Gymnastics recently announced its 2008 class of inductees for the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame, including IOA member Brent Simmons, 20-P, of Columbus, Indiana. USAG said this about the two-time NCAA champion:

“Brent Simmons was a member of the men’s U.S. World Championships Teams in 1970 and 1974, and won U.S. titles on the parallel bars in 1971 and on the horizontal bar in 1974. He competed in the 1971 Pan American Games and earned the team silver medal and the bronze medal on the horizontal bar. In 1971, Simmons led the Iowa State men’s team to the NCAA team title, as well as won the parallel bars and the horizontal bar titles. He was the 1971 recipient of the Nissen Award and was an All-American on four events. He has been a national or brevet judge for 25 years and served as the master scorer on men’s vault at the 1996 Olympic Games.”

Congratulations, Brent!
