Wabash Magnetics Indiana State Championships
The scoring crew kept us on a steady pace for two days. From left, Chief

Off
and running: Youngsters Billy Hemp, 7-W, Andrew Tate, 1-W, and
Brent Tate, 62-M, have their throttles squeezed at the starting line.
Billy Hemp took the weekend title in the J Hydro
class.
And our fastest class: Tim Kurcz, Rich Welch, Jim Robb,
Jr. and David Mason at the starting line. Tim Kurcz captured
the weekend title in Formula E Hydro.
Rookie
champ: First-time driver Justin Gibson (mostly
red boat, center background) captured the Eastern Divisional championship
in C Service Hydro against veterans David Verboort (left) and Jack Campbell
(foreground).
Entering
the course: Mike Newman, Pontiac, Michigan,
moves to the front of his cockpit to help the 220-M boat plane off for
a heat of C Modified Hydro.
Underway:
Gene Noonan, 50-S, Dayton, Ohio, watches the starting
clock from his red-white-and-blue 25 Mod Hydro. Noonan took the weekend
title in 25 Mod.
Lone
Star Patriot: Jack Stotts brought his 3-T boats
from Austin, Texas to compete in 20 Super Stock Hydro and C Mod Hydro.
Stotts ran a close second in C Mod all weekend.
