Wabash Magnetics Indiana State Championships
Threatening weather waited and the protected course
stayed calm under strong west winds. More than 80 entries took to the
water each day for some great racing and -- amazingly -- not one driver
was in the water either day. In this photo, Kris Proctor,
95-H, Indianapolis, leads a B Mod Hydro heat.
Steady
on: It was Tom Johnston, 15-M, who took the
weekend title in B Mod Hydro by capturing second place both Saturday and
Sunday.
Wall
of water: The Formula E Hydros of John Sharp,
8-H, and David Mason, 38-M, are silhouetted against the
spray from the 7-M hydro of Jim Robb, Jr.
Kevin Ladd, 4-M, took the A Stock Hydro win on Saturday
against eight other boats, the largest field of the day.
Side-by-each,
again: Jimmy Robb, M-7, Waterford, Michigan
and Daniel Koschka, 41-H, Indianapolis, are enjoying
another sponson-to-sponson season in A Stock Hydro. Koschka captured the
weekend title in Formula A Hydro.
One
class, two wins: John Robarge clinched wins
in C Stock Hydro both Saturday and Sunday.
Two
classes, one win each: Tom Sutherland, Chelsea,
Michigan, took the checkered in 20 SS Hydro on Saturday and in A Mod Hydro
on Sunday.
A
Team: Jesse Swain and his brother Jordan,
Warsaw, Indiana, both ran well in A Mod Hydro and A Mod Runabout.
Jesse took the AMR win on Sunday.
